Bushbury’s ⭐️Little Stars⭐️ Provision

Last half term in the Sanctuary, our children were learning about ‘Me and My Community’. Through the story of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’, the children explored ideas of family, tackled obstacles, explored what is in their community, and learned about workers within it who can help us in different ways 🐻📚✨

They created beautiful onomatopoeic artwork based on characters’ journey and the obstacles they overcome 🎨 They worked as a team to overcome similar obstacles in the playground, encouraging each other and ensuring that no Bushbury family member gets left behind! 🏡

Back in the classroom, they thoroughly enjoyed using adjectives to describe each other and capture each other on paper. They even captured the Bear from the story and represented its features through art 🖌️

To end this exciting unit, the children were able to retell the story in the tuff tray, and via story maps!

To top it off, their road safety lesson came in handy as they went on their very own hunt around the local community where they spotted all the important features they’d been learning about! 🛝
